Presumed democratic nominee
for president of the United States and coolest cucumber to ever have
a shot at running the free world. The Junior Senator from Illinois had
a coming out party four years ago after his historic keynote address at the 2004 Democratic
National Convention. This year, of course, they’ve moved his speaking
slot a bit later in the program.
DID OBAMA’S CAMP EXPERIENCE ALTER HIS WORLD VIEW?
At a June 2008 speech delivered to Amercia’s Pro-Israel Lobby, Obama fondly recalled that as an 11-year-old, he had a camp counselor who had lived in Israel and first learned about the “extraordinary land.” While having a counselor in and of itself is not extraordinary, it was the camp experience that taught the potential prez about “the long journey and steady determination of the Jewish people to preserve their identity through faith, family and culture.” Are you listening, Florida?
NOTABLE CAMP MOMENT:
While it is unlikely that Obama
ever took a field trip to the local bowling alley during his camp days, chances are
he shined on the other hardwood of the basketball courts. The true bounce
of this campaign came when he drained a 3-pointer during a stop in Kuwait
on his July world tour. The world awaits his next newcomb photo opp.

Jeremy played Bernardo, leader of the Sharks, in a Harand Camp production of "West Side Story". No word on whether or not he danced in the Act II ballet.
