Summer Never Ends at MyCampFriends.com!
MyCampFriends.com debuts online social network for summer campers, camp alumni and anyone yearning for a place on the web Where Summer Never Ends!™
CHICAGO – Sept. 26 – The leaves are turning brown and there is an autumn chill to the air, but MyCampFriends.com is Where Summer Never Ends!™. MyCampFriends.com, which can be found at www.mycampfriends.com, today debuts the largest and most interactive database of summer campers and camp alumni in the world.
Founded by Internet and entertainment veterans T.J. Shanoff and Brad Spirrison, MyCampFriends.com is the place on the web to find and share stories with camp friends both new and old. Several hundred camps are already listed on the website and thousands of camp enthusiasts have visited and published profiles at MyCampFriends.com. Today, we are introducing new features that allow visitors to exchange messages and testimonial handprints through the website.
“I’ve been going back to my camp for more than 20 years and some of my best friends are from those summers,” said MyCampFriends.com co-director T.J. Shanoff, an alum of Camp Harand. “We wanted to develop a place on the Internet where everyone can renew those friendships and meet others who share the same special feelings towards their camp.
In addition to connecting with camp friends, MyCampFriends.com visitors can share photos, videos and playlists with others they choose to be in their cabin. Co-Directors T.J. and Brad also serve treats at the MyCampFriends.com Canteen. The two media junkies share their “best of” camp lists and you can listen to their monthly podcast. Visitors can also read about Featured Camp of the Month, Camp Crystalaire in Frankfort, Michigan.
And starting today, there are more reasons than ever to visit MyCampFriends.com again and again and again.
Virtual Postcards – Members can send friends in their cabins emails through the website, via a postcard from camp.
Handprints – Members can share memories and testimonials of their camp friends on their profile pages by leaving your virtual handprint.
Photo Galleries – It is easy for members to upload their favorite camp photos, and create galleries for all of their camps through the website or via Flickr.
YouTube – Members can share their favorite camp videos via YouTube on their camp profile page.
"Wet Hot American Summer" – For visitors who did not physically attend a camp, they can always be a member of Camp Firewood, which is featured in the classic comedy “Wet Hot American Summer” and lives on at MyCampFriends.com.
“MyCampFriends.com is the online social network wholly devoted to maintaining special relationships that can only be developed from camp.” said co-director Brad Spirrison, an alum of Camp Deerhorn. “We are proud to bring the world a place on the web Where Summer Never Ends!”
Co-directors T.J. and Brad are veterans in the Internet and entertainment industries. T.J. is a writer/director and musician with Second City as well as a host on WCKG-FM – Chicago. Brad is a columnist with the Chicago Sun Times and publisher of MidwestBusiness.com.
