My Camp Facts

Since 1928, Interlochen has been one of America's pre-eminent Summer Arts camps. Located in Interlochen, Michigan, the camp is renown for its' programs in the fine arts, including: theater, dance, film, creative writing, visual arts, and music.

Music has long been a major component of the camp, which was originally founded as the National High School Orchestra Camp by Dr. Joseph E. Maddy.

Some of the more notable Interlochen traditions include the all-camp uniform, the playing of "Symphony #2" at the conclusion of camp concerts, and Les Preludes, the all-camp final performance event.

Of course, Interlochen also features many traditional camp activities, but its' focus on the arts is what has made it so famous for nearly a century.
