MORE CAMP SENECA MEMORIES:
"One of my best memories is of Uncle Bob twirling fire torches at
Final Campfire. I also remember lighting candles and setting them in
the water the last night of camp while beautiful songs were being
sung by counselors sitting in the dark.
I remember making lanyards and writing jingles. Color War and OTC. Water Ballet and Circus. Rainy Day Programs and Surprise Night.
Playing the cream cheese game at Doris' table in the dining room.
I remember saying How! How! when someone did something that was good.
I remember holding hands with Kenny Schueler when we were skating in the Champarena.
I have the Squaw Song book and a wooden bowling pin from Steal the Bacon. Do you remember playing crab soccer?
After being a camper for many years I came back as a counselor. Do you remember the Whaley Inn?
This is my first round of memories."
(Thanks to Willa Kravitz for these great Camp Seneca memories!)
"This camp was open for many years, however, its doors closed during the late 70's, I believe. It was owned by the Howard and Gillbert families. Many campers returned for several - and in some cases, quite a few years. Located on Whaley Lake, ages ranged from 6 - 15. Camp Seneca attracted campers from the greater New York City area."
(Thanks to Ginny F. for this great information on Camp Seneca!)
